Dec 10 MCSD Annual Toy Drive - A Club favorite! Once again we are partnering with local VFW Post 1774 where the toys benefit children of local needy enlisted military families. The Club will supply toys to take to the VFW, but you are most welcome to bring new, unwrapped toys (for a boy or girl aged 8-12) on your own to supplement the donations. Meet in Kearny Mesa in the Sears Essentials parking lot (corner of Clairemont Mesa Blvd & Convoy St) on Saturday morning Dec 10 at 10:00am (rain or shine). We’ll arrange all the toys for a big group photo around 10:15am then fill up our Mustang sleighs and depart at 10:30AM to cruise to the VFW Post at their new location at 8118 University Avenue, La Mesa (plenty of parking on-site). After unloading all the toys the VFW is hosting a lunch feast/party, plenty of socializing, and lots of fun! This event also functions as the December general meeting, so there is NO general meeting at the end of December.
As an added fun bonus this year we have Shelby Foundation goodies for each participant who brings a toy and also a special raffle that will take place in the Sears parking lot before we leave on our Toy Drive!
Thanks for all who came to the annual election meeting at JBA last week.
